Our Mission
Archmere Academy is a Catholic, Norbertine college preparatory school, valuing community, respect, zeal, reverence, and wisdom. Nurturing body and soul, mind and heart, Archmere focuses on the whole person through academic excellence, faith reflection, social development, and service to others. Inspired by its heritage, Archmere cultivates empathetic leaders- young men and women prepared for every good work.

Since opening its doors in 1932, Archmere Academy is known for its rigorous academic program. The academic disciplines foster critical thinking skills, strengthen analytical reasoning, and foster intellectual creativity through each department. Parents and caregivers choose Archmere for their children because choosing our door opens others. Students choose Archmere because of the opportunities available to them.
We strive to inspire students to challenge themselves, think critically, and ultimately reach their greatest potential. Boys Lacrosse Defeats Cape Henlopen
The Archmere boys lacrosse team defeated Cape Henlopen on Friday, May 10 at Legends Stadium in Lewes, Delaware. The team played Cape in the rain and wind, coming out of the match victorious. This was the first time in eight years the Auks have defeated the Vikings. They led 6-1 after the first quarter and 8-3 at halftime, ending the game with an impressive 11-6 score.Read More -
Girls Lacrosse Moves on to State Quarterfinals
On May 14th, the girls lacrosse team scored five unanswered goals within the first few minutes and never looked back in a 17-5 win over Smyrna in the first round of DIAA State Tournament. At home on the lower turf, Archmere dominated the draws, defense was resilient, and a barrage of offensive scorers controlled the narrative against the Eagles. Ciara Knapp '26 scored the first goal for Archmere within 41 seconds of the match, setting the stage for a fast paced Archmere offense and a spot in the Quarterfinals.Read More -
Five Students Invited to DE Governor's School for Arts
Read MoreCongratulations to sophomores Andres Ramos, Audrey Zou, Valentina Ramos, CC Kittila, and Daniel Qi for earning spots in this summer's very prestigious Governor's School for Excellence. The Delaware Governor's School for Excellence is a one-week summer program that brings together academically and artistically talented Delaware high school students who have completed their sophomore year. Students are nominated to participate in Governor’s School through their schools via a competitive application process. Andres was nominated and chosen for the academic program, Audrey and Valentina nominated and chosen for the visual arts program, CC for theater, and Daniel for music. Students can only be nominated for one category in either the academic or arts program.
